Vula is a mobile app that connects general healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses and healthcare workers) with medical specialists. Our app provides healthcare workers with information, allows them to capture patient information (including photographs), and, through our chat function, connects them directly with specialists. They can ask for advice and find out whether a patient needs to be referred to a more specialist hospital, or can be treated in a local clinic. This leads to more accurate diagnoses and referrals, reduced waiting room time and better patient outcomes. Ultimately, it helps to create more efficient and effective referral networks. While our users are healthcare professionals, they use the app for free. The customer paying for the license would normally be the public sector (local, provincial and national departments of health), but could also include large NGOs, and private sector companies.
