Project codeX

Growing the next generation of African coders

About

codeX finds, trains, and places the best raw talent in Africa as software developers. With more than 600 million young people already, Africa will have the largest working age population in the world by 2030. Less than 12% of its youth have access to tertiary education. Yet nearly 75% of African already have mobile phones and mobile internet access is accelerating. There is a rising consumer class that has disposable income. Growing African companies are scrambling to find the tech talent they need. They usually have to outsource to other continents, and when they can hire locally, it's incredibly expensive. codeX targets the massive tech skills shortage with a comprehensive project-driven curriculum that prepares coders for the jobs available now, and the thinking and learning skills they'll need to build world-class careers. We make money through placement fees, subsidized development work, franchise fees for codeX branches around Africa, and equity in coder-founded startups.
